Sakura International is still hard at work!

Amidst the chaos and uncertainty caused by Covid-19, the MICE industry is faced with an unprecedented number of postponed and cancelled events. We are thinking positively however and using this downtime effectively to strengthen our abilities while waiting for the situation to improve.

Meanwhile, we have welcomed 11 recruits to mark the start of the new financial year. They began their training following the welcome ceremony held on April 1st, and on Monday April 6th  they joined their respective teams. While you could say it is not ideal timing, this unique situation has given our staff extra time and energy to spend on the new employees. Their guidance is more thorough and courteous than ever! The new employees are taking the situation in their stride, working hard, and having fun.

Unfortunately this situation means that while our revenue has decreased, our expenses have not. To help get through this we have been assisted by a number of different parties, so we would like to show our appreciation for the kindness shown to us by the companies listed below.

First, Yoshino Hinode Real Estate, who we’ve known for many years since our humble beginnings in Higashi-Yoshino. In addition to their words of support, they kindly offered to halve our storage rent. This is a welcome relief during this difficult time, and we are sincerely grateful for their offer.

Also, we received many face masks from our industry colleagues “Company T“ in Guangdong Province and “Company C” in Shandong Province, China. Everyone at Sakura International was encouraged and gratified by this unexpected and timely present. We are thankful for their friendship.

A big thank you to everyone!

We hope for a timely resolution to the Covid-19 pandemic, and look forward to the day when we can repay our benefactors and society for the encouragement and support we have received.
