Experiencing the future of mobility! Report on Auto Guangzhou 2023 held in Guangzhou, China

Recently for 10 days from December 30, 2022, one of our veteran staffs visited Auto Guangzhou 2023 held at the Pazhou Hall of the Canton Fair in Guangzhou, China.

This event is Guangzhou’s version of a motor show but it was originally scheduled to be held from November 18th to 27th, 2022. The event was delayed due to the spread of infection after the lifting of measures against the new coronavirus infection.
Our staff visited the venue to get a firsthand look at the event in China, which will be held during the Telework from China, a period that we had reported on in a previous news topic.

At the event where automakers from around the world gathered, many emphasized electric vehicles seemingly taking into account the recent SDGs movement. Hybrids, which were the main new technology not long ago, are now the norm and many fully electric vehicles were on display.
The number of visitors to the exhibition seemed to be smaller than before the covid-19 outbreak, perhaps due to the risk of infection by the new coronavirus. Despite this the venue was lively with vehicles that visitors were able to actually see and touch and intense business discussions acroos the event hall. If you are thinking of exhibiting overseas, especially in China, now might be a good time to do so!

Although the coronavirus continues to be prevalent in China, the country has announced a policy of “individual measures” and “resumption of work and production,” and the site visit gave us the impression that the Chinese event market can be expected to return to full production in the near future.
