Introduction
Here is just a small selection of the many projects we have successfully completed in Japan and worldwide.
From general contracting work for the whole event to custom build stands we have done it all.
There is a very good reason why the biggest names in the industry work with us, we make it happen on time and budget no matter what.

Designated supplier for Exhibitor services |
When DMG events decided to bring Gastech, their flagship energy event, to Japan,
they turned to Sakura International to make it happen.
To pull off an event of this size with 80% foreign exhibitors and a European
operations model, it required more than just language skills but also general
contracting know-how and extensive supplier connections, as well as the ability to
manage a wide range of stakeholders.
Never one to turn away from a challenge, Sakura International did all of this inhouse
and came away with flying colours.
IWA

Scope of Work |
Designated supplier for Exhibitor services |
The IWA came to Japan for the first time in 2018 for the World Water Congress and
Exhibition.
With the organizers based in the UK and Exhibition Agency in the Netherlands, a reliable
local agency was required to ensure smooth preshow and onsite operations.
Considering the time difference and an unfamiliar culture and standards for the
show, who else but Sakura International could deliver such an important event.
The international team were outstanding onsite, receiving commendation from the
organizers for keeping exhibitors happy and making this event a success.

Semi is the Association for the worldwide semiconductor industry, headquartered in
Silicon Valley.
Sakura International has been the official contractor for the Semicon Japan show
since 2014, managing preshow and onsite operations on behalf of the organizers.
The scope of work has slowly expanded from our initial role as General Service
Contractor for the exhibition, to our current position where we also manage all
aspects of the Registration and Conference.
Kudos to our Organizer Support Team for managing this enormous task as part of
their Secretariat role in both Japanese and English.
World Congress of Neurology

Designated supplier for Exhibitor services |
Japanʼs advanced medical technology and research facilities have been attracting
international medical conferences from overseas for many years.
Typically these are organized by an overseas Association with the help of a PCO and
backed by a Local Arrangements Committee.
Balancing the competing needs and expectations of both sides is all part of the dayʼs
work for Sakura International, and this one was no different.
Even a typhoon making a direct hit on the venue on a Sunday night didnʼt stop our
team from getting everything ready to go first thing on Monday morning.
UD Trucks
Mega / Live Events
Type | Live Event |
Event | UD Trucks Leadership Summit |
Client | UD Trucks |

Dates | Dec. 6, 2019 |
Size | 4,000㎡ |
Scope of Work |
Setup of Stage |
The Leadership Summit is a corporate training event run by UD Trucks, along with
their European partners Volvo.
The challenge for this event was to understand the requirements of both sides and
then be able to turn this into reality.
Only an experienced multilingual event producer like Sakura International could
achieve this.
Our specialist event production team were the stars here, taking care of all the
necessary preshow logistics and onsite operations to create a flawless experience
for attendees.
Etherium Foundation
Mega / Live Events
Type | Live Event |

Dates | Oct. 8-11, 2019 |
Size | 5,500㎡ |
Scope of Work |
Setup of Stage/Plenary Room |
Devcon is the developers conference for the Ethereum Foundation.
This was held in Japan for the first time in 2019, organized out of California.
With the venue unable to handle communications directly with an overseas-based
organizer, Sakura International stepped in.
Despite only 10 weeks notice between the initial enquiry and start of setup we made it
happen.
Using our excellent local supplier network, we were able to pull together the help we
needed to deliver on time and budget, regardless of the tight schedule.
Over 3000 attendees can attest to a job well done!
Sports Events
Mega / Live Events
Type | Mega Events |
Event | Wales Promotion Event |
Client | Welsh Government |
Venue | Shinjuku Southern Terrace |
Dates | September 18 -October 30, 2019 |
Size | 100㎡ |
Scope of Work |
Venue Co-ordination |
This event was planned to run concurrently with the Rugby World Cup, held in Japan
in autumn 2019.
Sakura International provided services for various Sponsors and Hospitality areas
for what is the Worldʼs 3rd largest sporting event.
The Welsh Government shipped out this unique display and contracted Sakura
International to manage the setup and make sure the project received all the
necessary authorizations to go ahead.
In a country like Japan, where standards and regulations are very different to
Europe, this can be a challenge. Regardless, as an experienced mega-event operator,
we made it happen.
This experience proved invaluable for the Olympics which took place in 2021, where
Sakura International assisted in multiple high-profile projects.
Gastech
Special Design
Type | Special Construction (Inbound) |
Event | Gastech Japan |
Client | Gazprom |
Venue | Makuhari Messe |
Dates | 4-7 April, 2017 |
Size | 160㎡ |
Scope of Work |
Booth conceptualization & design |
This stunning booth stood out even amongst the exceptional standards of
decoration at the Gastech Tokyo show.
It may seem counterintuitive, but making the booth entirely in neutral white made an
even bigger impact than vivid colour.
On top of that, the stand was completely closed to maintain confidentiality and so
required installation of both fire prevention equipment and air conditioning.
A headache for the production planning team, but the clients were ecstatic with the
results.
The only downside was the organizers would not allow us to go ahead with the
planned private toilet!
Sibos
Special Design
Type | Special Construction (Outbound) |
Event | Sibos 2017 |
Client | MUFG Bank |
Venue | Metro Toronto Convention Center |
Dates | 16-19 October, 2017 |
Size | 144㎡ |
Scope of Work |
Booth conceptualization & design |
Sakura International is an old hand when it comes to SIBOS, having acted as official
local partners in 2012 when it was in Osaka and worked with Japanese banks
thereafter.
In fact, MUFG has been our main bank since the company was incorporated so it was
a special honour to do this stand.
The design concept here uses MUFGʼs corporate colour of red as a base while
featuring Japanese and local elements in the graphics, to ensure easy recognition for
the guests.
This image has become their trademark thanks to our conceptualization work, and
anyone going to SIBOS now will instantly recognize the MUFG booth.
ISPO
Special Design
Type | Special Construction (Inbound) |
Event | 17th ISPO World Congress |
Client | Ossur |
Venue | Kobe International Exhibition Hall |
Dates | 5-8 October, 2019 |
Size | 135㎡ |
Scope of Work |
Booth conceptualization & design |
ISPO is the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics.
To help raise awareness ahead of the Tokyo Paralympics, they brought the World
Congress to Kobe in 2019. Sakura International acted as Official Contractor.
We were also proud to build the largest corporate stand at the show for Ossur, the
renowned artificial limb producer from Germany.
This unique design, created by our inhouse team, included a special walkway to
showcase visitors wearing and using Ossurʼsproducts, and made for an
unforgettable spectacle.
ITS World Congress
Special Design
Type | Special Construction (Outbound) |
Event | ITS 2019 |
Client | Toyota |
Venue | Suntec |
Dates | 21-25 October, 2019 |
Size | 120㎡ |
Scope of Work |
Booth layout & design |
Some of Japanʼs biggest corporations turn to Sakura International to make sure their
overseas events are planned and delivered to the same standards they would expect
in Japan.
Toyota is one of those corporations and we have been collaborating with them both
domestically and internationally for many years.
We had a huge team of 25 staff in Singapore for this show, doing projects for both
Japanese and foreign (Out-out) exhibitors.
The Toyota booth was not large, but used the vertical space effectively to create an
arresting image in the hall.
As one of the main sponsors for the show it wouldnʼt do to have an uninspiring
booth, so our multilingual project managers made sure Toyota was well represented.
FOODEX (Italia)
Pavilions
Type | Pavilion Construction |
Event | Foodex Japan |
Client | Italian Trade Commission |
Venue | Makuhari Messe |
Dates | March 5-8, 2019 |
Size | 2400㎡ |
Scope of Work |
Pavilion planning & design |
Managing pavilions at trade shows is an entirely different ballgame to individual
stands.
Sakura International has been doing this work, in particular at this show, for more than
20 years, so we know what we are doing.
The Italian pavilion is the largest at this show with over 120 individual exhibitors.
Managing this requires the skills of our Organizer Support team, as well as our native
Italian staff to ensure smooth communication and guarantee each exhibitor gets
exactly the right equipment and furnishings they need for their booth.
Note that despite appearances this is actually a modular structure, designed to meet
the tight move-in and move-out schedule.
Tourism Expo (Georgia)
Pavilions
Type | Pavilion Construction |
Event | Tourism Expo |
Client | Georgia National Tourism Administration |
Venue | Tokyo Big Sight |
Dates | September 20-23, 2018 |
Size | 72㎡ |
Scope of Work |
Pavilion concept & design |
The Tourism Expo is an annual showcase for various National Tourism Boards to
connect with industry stakeholders as well as the general public.
Making your pavilion stand out from the crowd isnʼt easy, but that is exactly what our
clients come to Sakura International for.
The Georgia pavilion has a distinctive and bold design to grab visitors attention and
encourage them to have a look at this country, which is aiming to increase its profile
in Japan.
Our international team made sure the clients got the right platform to achieve this
goal, as well as offering advice on how to make the most of the show.
AIA (Dragons Meeting in Osaka)
Incentive
Type | Live Event |
Event | 19th AIA Dragons Meeting |
Client | AIA |
Venue | Intex Osaka |
Dates | Jan. 16, 2017 |
Size | 8,000㎡ |
Scope of Work |
Staging Lighting/AV Arrangements |
Incentive groups have become common visitors to Japan due to the boom of
inbound tourism.
This Insurance company rewarded their top salespeople with a memorable evening in
Osaka, assisted by Sakura International.
This featured exciting onstage performances, interactive activities, as well as a range
of local gourmet specialties for the tour guests.
Sakura Internationalʼs experience with live event production and our Chinese speaking
staff proved to be the essential ingredient for success in this project.
