November 1982 | Incorporating the Local Production model of the Singaporean standbuilder they collaborated with for the Wire Asia Exhibition, founder Ken Myohdai invests own funds to establish their Japan branch. |

Sakura International’s SDGs Commitment
Sakura International has been committed to reducing waste and making a cleaner planet since long before SDGs were thought of.
Amongst the many positive steps we have taken are:
*Establishment of SRDS2 (Sakura Reuseable Display System) in 1994 to reuse decoration materials.
*Installation of Solar Panels on Nara Factory Rooftop in 2004.
*Rooftop garden installed at Osaka HQ in 2006.
*Purchase of Electric forklifts and Hybrid company vehicles in 2008.
In addition we are Japan’s sole supporter for the Net Zero Carbon Events Initiative, which aims to reduce carbon emissions to net zero by 2050.

GBAC STAR Accreditation
Sakura International is the first official Representative in Japan for the GBAC STAR accreditation.
This program was established in the USA in May 2020 in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Designed by biosecurity experts, this accreditation is designed to help public facilities establish protocol and procedures to reduce the risk of transmission of any kind of infectious disease.
This accreditation is being used at hotels, restaurants, event venues, airports, schools, arenas, stations and any other place where people gather.
In Japan we have assisted facilities like Tokyo Big Sight, Prince Hotels and many others to join this program.
